June 1969

 

My Wife, Lulu and I, and our 2 kids moved out to the barren plot in Marister Benoni. We built our shack around a Caravan, and planted simultaneously.

 

 

 

 

January 1970

 

We were on holiday in Barberton and we bought R 8.00's worth of pot plants. Lulu sold them to our neighbours and so Kazimingi was born.
I quit my job as a Sales Rep  and started "smousing " the little that we grew and whatever else we could buy in and resell.                           
Mainly to Florists and hardware stores. We eventually branched out into Landscaping, Garden maintenance and Pot Plant maintenance

 

 

1971 to 1991

 

From '71 to 91' we concentrated on growing our small home business into the blossiming nursery it is today.  Lots of hard work and lots of plants

1992

 

In 1992 we stopped most of the outside work and concentrated on the Nursery.

 

August 2009

Our original nursery now fills up 2 plots, and we produce a wide variety of plants. Our daughter Janine has a farm in Pretoria North and produces indigenous trees for us. We have a small farm in Naboomspruit where we also grow a large  range of plants.
